Customer ServiceWe can teach you what it means to deliver great service both from a customer’s and an employer’s perspective. The skills you learn will be applicable in the workplace right away. Learn how to deal with customer complaints and how to turn a negative situation into a positive one! Gaining your customer service skills will increase your hospitality employment potential and is a great place to start. This part of the training is mostly classroom based but with an opportunity to practise your skills in a real live environment at Southern Café. Your course fee includes workbook and all certification costs.

This course looks at what it means to offer great customer service, both from a customer’s and employer’s perspective. The programme investigates barriers to offering great customer service, and how to overcome these barriers. Candidates also learn how to deal with customer complaints, and how to turn a complainant into a loyal customer for the business. Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates will achieve the following unit standards:

  • 14462 Prepare for and provide customer care in the hospitality industry
  • 14464 Deal with customer complaints in the hospitality industry
  • 14469 Provide customers with information about an establishment in the hospitality industry
  • 377 Work in a diverse workplace

Credit value: 8 credits

You can do one or all of the above units as you wish but to gain the HSI Certificate of Achievement you must achieve competency in all the required units.

Many of the above units are credits towards full nationally recognised qualifications.
