Key Information for International StudentsPastoral Care of International StudentsCode of PracticeThe New Zealand Government wants students to be well-informed, safe and properly cared for while studying in New Zealand.The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students sets out standards for the welfare of students. All New Zealand education providers who enroll international students must meet the standards. National Technology Institute has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at http://www.minedu.govt.nz/goto/international. ComplaintsThe International Education Appeal Authority (IEAA) is there to handle any complaints international students might have about the way they have been treated by their school. You can contact the IEAA by email or phone (09) 374 5481.Before going to IEAA, however, you should try to resolve the complaint with Ntec. Complaints / grievance procedures are on the student noticeboard, and in the International Students’ Handbook, which is given to students during orientation.
